Think Differently Database Act

This bill requires the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to establish an online clearinghouse of resources and other information for individuals with an intellectual disability (and their caregivers and families) that is searchable by zip code. In particular, the clearinghouse must include information about (1) community-based services and long-term support services available through Medicaid; and (2) how to obtain health care, mental health care, and other relevant services.

HHS must also promote awareness of the resources in the clearinghouse.

The Think Differently Database Act, also known as Bill 118 hr 670, is a piece of legislation currently being considered by the US Congress. The purpose of this bill is to establish a national database that would collect and organize information on programs and services available to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

The database would be accessible to the public and would provide valuable resources for individuals with disabilities, their families, and caregivers. It would include information on a wide range of topics, such as education, employment, housing, healthcare, and support services.

The Think Differently Database Act aims to improve access to services and support for individuals with disabilities by centralizing information and making it easier to navigate. By creating a comprehensive database, the bill seeks to empower individuals with disabilities to make informed decisions about their care and support needs. Overall, the Think Differently Database Act is a bipartisan effort to enhance the quality of life for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities by providing them with better access to resources and support services.
