BE GONE Act
12/30/2022, 7:34 AM
Summary of Bill HR 5759
The BE GONE Act, also known as Bill 117 hr 5759, is a piece of legislation currently being considered by the US Congress. The main goal of this bill is to address the issue of illegal immigration by increasing border security measures and cracking down on individuals who overstay their visas.
One of the key provisions of the BE GONE Act is the allocation of additional funding for the construction of a border wall along the US-Mexico border. This wall is intended to prevent illegal immigrants from entering the country and to enhance overall border security.
In addition to the border wall, the BE GONE Act also includes measures to increase penalties for individuals who overstay their visas. This includes stricter enforcement of visa expiration dates and harsher consequences for those who violate the terms of their visas. Overall, the BE GONE Act aims to strengthen US immigration policies and improve national security by addressing the issue of illegal immigration. Supporters of the bill argue that these measures are necessary to protect American jobs and ensure the safety of US citizens. Critics, however, raise concerns about the potential impact on immigrant communities and the effectiveness of a border wall in deterring illegal immigration.
