Developing an Innovative Strategy for Antimicrobial Resistant Microorganisms Act of 2021 or the DISARM Act of 2021

This bill requires additional payment under Medicare's inpatient prospective payment system for services that involve certain antimicrobial drugs, in accordance with specified limitations. Additionally, the Government Accountability Office must report on the barriers to developing such antimicrobial drugs and must recommend ways to address such barriers.

Bill 117 HR 4127, also known as the DISARM Act of 2021, is a piece of legislation currently being considered by the US Congress. The purpose of this bill is to address the issue of gun violence by implementing stricter regulations on the sale and possession of firearms.

The DISARM Act of 2021 includes several key provisions. Firstly, it calls for the implementation of universal background checks for all gun purchases, including those made at gun shows and online. This measure is aimed at preventing individuals with a history of violence or mental illness from obtaining firearms.

Additionally, the bill proposes the establishment of a national gun registry, which would track the ownership and transfer of all firearms in the country. This registry would help law enforcement agencies track down illegal guns and hold gun owners accountable for their weapons. Furthermore, the DISARM Act of 2021 includes provisions for the implementation of red flag laws, which allow family members and law enforcement to petition the court to temporarily remove firearms from individuals who pose a threat to themselves or others. This measure is intended to prevent mass shootings and other acts of gun violence. Overall, the DISARM Act of 2021 aims to reduce gun violence in the United States by implementing stricter regulations on the sale and possession of firearms. Supporters of the bill argue that these measures are necessary to protect public safety, while opponents raise concerns about potential infringements on Second Amendment rights. The bill is currently being debated in Congress, and its fate remains uncertain.
