Specifically, it includes as a firearm any combination of parts designed or intended to be used to convert a device into a firearm and from which a firearm may be readily assembled.

Bill 117 HR 1454, also known as the Ghost Guns Are Guns Act, is a piece of legislation currently being considered in the US Congress. The purpose of this bill is to address the issue of "ghost guns," which are firearms that are assembled from kits or 3D printed parts and do not have serial numbers or other identifying markings.

The Ghost Guns Are Guns Act aims to regulate these ghost guns by requiring that they have serial numbers and be subject to the same background check requirements as traditional firearms. This would make it easier for law enforcement to track these weapons and hold individuals accountable for their possession and use.

Additionally, the bill includes provisions to strengthen penalties for individuals who possess or distribute ghost guns illegally. This is intended to deter the production and distribution of these untraceable firearms and help prevent them from falling into the wrong hands. Overall, the Ghost Guns Are Guns Act seeks to address the growing concern of ghost guns and their potential impact on public safety. By regulating these firearms and increasing penalties for their illegal possession, the bill aims to make communities safer and hold individuals accountable for their actions.
