2/12/2025, 6:31 PM
Summary of Bill HR 429
Bill 119 hr 429, also known as the Women on the Home Front Commemorative Coin Act, is a proposed piece of legislation that would require the Secretary of the Treasury to mint coins in honor of the women who made significant contributions to the Home Front during World War II. The coins would serve as a tribute to the vital role that women played in supporting the war effort and maintaining the country's infrastructure while the men were fighting overseas.
The bill aims to recognize and celebrate the sacrifices and hard work of the women who worked in factories, farms, and other essential industries during the war. These women played a crucial role in keeping the economy running and ensuring that the troops had the resources they needed to succeed in battle.
In addition to honoring the women of the Home Front, the bill also includes provisions for the minting and distribution of the commemorative coins. The coins would be available for purchase by the public, with proceeds going towards supporting programs and initiatives that benefit veterans and their families. Overall, the Women on the Home Front Commemorative Coin Act seeks to pay tribute to the often overlooked contributions of women during World War II and to ensure that their legacy is remembered and celebrated for generations to come.
