Summary of Bill S 2787

The Bill 118 s 2787, also known as the 5G SALE Act, is a piece of legislation introduced in the US Congress. The main purpose of this bill is to prohibit the sale of certain telecommunications equipment to companies that pose a national security risk.

Specifically, the 5G SALE Act targets equipment that is used in the development and deployment of 5G technology. This technology is seen as crucial for the future of telecommunications and is expected to revolutionize the way we connect and communicate.

The bill aims to prevent companies that are deemed to be a threat to national security from accessing this technology. This is in response to concerns that certain foreign companies may be using their telecommunications equipment to spy on American citizens or engage in other malicious activities. If passed, the 5G SALE Act would require companies to undergo a thorough security review before being allowed to purchase or use certain telecommunications equipment. This review would be conducted by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and other relevant government agencies. Overall, the 5G SALE Act is a bipartisan effort to protect national security interests while still allowing for the development and deployment of 5G technology in the United States. It is currently being debated in Congress and may undergo further revisions before being voted on.
