Emergency Security Supplemental to Respond to January 6th Appropriations Act, 2021
This bill provides FY2021 emergency supplemental appropriations for several federal departments and agencies to respond to the attack on the U.S. Capitol complex that occurred on January 6, 2021, address COVID-19, and provide humanitarian assistance for Afghan refugees.
In addition to providing appropriations, the bill establishes the United States Capitol Protection Task Force to assist the U.S. Capitol Police in protecting and providing security at the U.S. Capitol complex.
The bill also increases the number of authorized visas for the Afghan Special Immigrant Visa program and makes several other modifications to the program.
