CABLE Leadership Act
1/11/2023, 1:47 PM
Summary of Bill HR 1148
Bill 117 hr 1148, also known as the CABLE Leadership Act, is a piece of legislation introduced in the US Congress. The main purpose of this bill is to promote diversity and leadership opportunities within the cable industry.
The CABLE Leadership Act aims to achieve this goal by requiring cable operators to annually report on the diversity of their workforce, including information on the gender, race, and ethnicity of their employees. This data will then be made publicly available in order to increase transparency and accountability within the industry.
Additionally, the bill encourages cable operators to develop and implement programs that promote diversity and inclusion in their hiring and promotion practices. This includes providing training and mentorship opportunities for underrepresented groups in order to help them advance in their careers. Overall, the CABLE Leadership Act seeks to address the lack of diversity in the cable industry and promote equal opportunities for all individuals, regardless of their background. By requiring companies to report on their diversity efforts and encouraging them to take proactive steps to promote inclusivity, this bill aims to create a more equitable and representative workforce within the cable industry.
