Bill 119 H.Con.Res. 22 authorizes the use of Emancipation Hall in the Capitol Visitor Center for a ceremony to present the Congressional Gold Medals awarded under the 'Six Triple Eight' Congressional Gold Medal Act of 2021. The 'Six Triple Eight' Congressional Gold Medal Act of 2021 was passed to honor the women of the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion, an all-Black, all-female unit that served during World War II. The Congressional Gold Medal is one of the highest civilian honors in the United States and is awarded by Congress to individuals or groups who have made significant contributions to American society. The ceremony in Emancipation Hall will be a formal recognition of the bravery and service of the women of the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion.
