Vaccine Discharge Parity Act

This bill ensures that members of the Armed Forces who were granted a general discharge under honorable conditions (on the sole basis that the members failed to obey a lawful order to receive a vaccine for COVID-19) are eligible for Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) educational assistance under the Montgomery GI Bill-Active Duty and Post-9/11 GI Bill programs.

The bill also extends certain loan fee rates through March 1, 2031, under the VA's home loan program.

Bill 118 hr 291, also known as the Vaccine Discharge Parity Act, is a piece of legislation currently being considered by the US Congress. The main purpose of this bill is to ensure that members of the military who receive a vaccine discharge for medical reasons are treated the same as those who receive a discharge for other medical conditions.

The bill aims to address the disparity in benefits and services that can occur when a member of the military is discharged due to a vaccine-related medical issue. Currently, individuals who are discharged for vaccine-related reasons may not be eligible for the same benefits and services as those who are discharged for other medical conditions.

If passed, the Vaccine Discharge Parity Act would require the Department of Defense to provide equal benefits and services to all individuals who are discharged from the military due to a vaccine-related medical issue. This would ensure that these individuals are not unfairly disadvantaged and are able to access the support they need. Overall, the bill seeks to promote fairness and equality for members of the military who are discharged for vaccine-related medical reasons. It aims to ensure that all individuals who serve in the military are treated with the same level of respect and support, regardless of the circumstances of their discharge.
