Bill 118 hr 2873, also known as the Tribal Gaming Regulatory Compliance Act, is a piece of legislation introduced in the US Congress that aims to address issues related to tribal gaming regulation. The bill focuses on ensuring that tribal gaming operations comply with federal laws and regulations, particularly those related to money laundering and terrorist financing.
One of the key provisions of the bill is the requirement for tribal gaming operations to implement anti-money laundering programs that are consistent with the standards set by the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN). This is intended to prevent tribal casinos from being used as a means for criminals to launder money or finance terrorist activities.
Additionally, the bill seeks to enhance cooperation between tribal gaming operations and federal law enforcement agencies in order to better detect and prevent illicit activities. This includes requiring tribal casinos to report suspicious transactions to the appropriate authorities and to provide access to their financial records when requested. Overall, the Tribal Gaming Regulatory Compliance Act is aimed at ensuring that tribal gaming operations operate in a transparent and responsible manner, while also protecting against potential criminal activities. The bill has received bipartisan support in Congress and is currently being considered for passage.
