Health Care Fairness for Military Families Act of 2021

This bill modifies the extension of dependent coverage under TRICARE by allowing a dependent under the age of 26 to be covered without an additional premium. Additionally, the bill authorizes such coverage of dependents without a premium regardless of whether they are eligible to enroll in an employer sponsored plan.

Bill 117 HR 475, also known as the Health Care Fairness for Military Families Act of 2021, is a piece of legislation currently being considered by the US Congress. The main goal of this bill is to ensure that military families have access to the same health care benefits as civilian families.

One key provision of the bill is to allow military families to enroll in the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program (FEHBP). This program offers a wide range of health insurance options to federal employees and their families, and this bill seeks to extend these benefits to military families as well.

Additionally, the bill aims to improve access to mental health care services for military families. This includes increasing the availability of mental health providers within the TRICARE network, as well as expanding coverage for mental health treatments. Furthermore, the Health Care Fairness for Military Families Act of 2021 seeks to address issues related to maternity care for military families. The bill includes provisions to ensure that pregnant military spouses have access to comprehensive maternity care, including prenatal care, labor and delivery services, and postpartum care. Overall, Bill 117 HR 475 is focused on ensuring that military families have access to high-quality health care services that are on par with those available to civilian families. By expanding access to the FEHBP, improving mental health care services, and addressing maternity care issues, this bill aims to provide military families with the support and resources they need to lead healthy and fulfilling lives.
